A tragic tragedy occurred Saturday afternoon in the municipality of Guachochi, where three minors drowned in a dam located in the La Loma neighborhood. Two of them were brothers.
The victims were identified as DGPE, 9; KSP, 10; and CSP, 8, all residents of the town. According to the authorities’ report, the cause of death was asphyxiation by submersion.
According to preliminary reports, the children left their homes intending to swim in the dam, unaccompanied by an adult. Unfortunately, they did not make it out of the water alive.
Security personnel and emergency services arrived at the scene, confirmed the deaths, and conducted the necessary investigations. Subsequently, personnel from the Forensic Medical Service removed the bodies and transported them for legal autopsies.
Authorities urged the public to strengthen supervision of minors in high-risk areas to prevent similar tragedies.
