The Dog Was Crying On The Sidewalk, He Tried To Scrape Off The Clinging Scales On His Body

Discovering Kaya, a helpless dog, crying on the sidewalk filled me with a sense of urgency. His wet fur and immobility spoke volumes of the suffering he endured. Rushing him to the vet, I hoped to provide him with the care he desperately needed.

Kaya’s injuries were severe, especially his badly injured back leg, leaving him unable to walk. The vet recommended home care, and our journey to healing began. Our first task was a soothing shower, using specialized shampoo to alleviate his dry, scale-covered skin. As I sang comforting melodies, I felt a deep connection with Kaya, sensing his unspoken pain and trauma.

Daily injections and painkillers became part of Kaya’s routine, along with the use of diapers to maintain hygiene. Creating a clean and nurturing environment was paramount to his recovery. Despite visible improvements in his physical health, Kaya remained timid and withdrawn, haunted by his past. Yet, with each passing day, his strength and resilience shone through, a testament to his namesake.

As Kaya’s health improved, so did his spirit. Increased food intake and improved breathing brought comfort and relief, though the scars of his past lingered in his sad eyes.

For me, advocating for animal rights isn’t just a cause—it’s a way of life. Amidst the negativity of social media, my commitment to these dogs remains unwavering, their well-being an integral part of my existence.

When Kaya’s wheelchair broke, the community rallied together to provide a solution. Through generosity and solidarity, we rebuilt his wheelchair, ensuring his continued mobility and freedom.
